Chamber Music Workshop
​Students will explore the distinctive skills and repertoire necessary for performing in small chamber ensembles. This close-knit environment for both learning and creating music fosters a heightened awareness of essential musicianship fundamentals. Chamber music serves as an effective educational resource, striking a harmonious balance between solo performance and participation in larger ensembles.
A chamber music piece will be designated before the first session. Students are expected to familiarize themselves with the piece by the time of the first meeting. Memorization of the composition is not mandatory.​

Open to all instruments: piano, strings, winds, percussion (you should bring your own instrument), and voice.

-Music Appreciation/History
The students will experience music from a physical, mental and spiritual perspective, focusing on the development of the inner ear, as well as the relationship between mind and body, therefore, enhancing their ability over their musical performance. We will explore a wide range of orchestral, chamber, and solo instrument repertoire while also learning their historical background, style and development of ideas in each period. The approach to this class is full of movement and dynamic activities.

-Music Theory
​This class is designed to enhance vocabulary and concepts, transitioning from basic subjects to advanced studies in form analysis. Emphasis is placed on music structures, themes and motifs, key relationships, sequences, melodic techniques, cadence identification, and a degree of harmonic analysis. This program fosters musicianship by developing analytical and listening skills that link classroom instruction to the musical repertoire.

-Ear Training
Ear training is a vital component in the development of a musician. The various activities help the student in perfecting pitch and rhythm performance skills. Students learn to recognize and react to harmonic, melodic, and rhythmic structures through recitation, dictation and singing. A choral piece will be learned during the course and performed at the Concert.

-Chamber Music rehearsals
Coached by studio faculty, students explore the unique skills and repertoire required to perform in small chamber ensembles. Students will receive personalized guidance and coaching to perform their chamber pieces to their highest level of interpretation.
A chamber music piece (duo, trio, quartet) will be assigned prior to the first session. Students are expected to learn the piece by the first session. Memorization of the piece is not required.

-Concert
A concert will take place on January 18th at the end of all 4 meetings/rehearsals where students will perform the repertoire they studied and mastered during the course.
